TNT Tropang Giga’s Almond Vosotros — PBA MEDIA

GRAND Slam-chasing TNT Tropang Giga copped the No. 1 seeding as the Top 10 teams after six legs shift to the ultimate battle for the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) 3×3 Season 2 Third Conference crown this weekend.

The Tropang Giga wrested the top position as they piled up a league-best 430 tour points built around one leg victory, one runner-up and two third place finishes in the pre-finals.

The Almond Vosotros-led powerhouse is out to complete a clean sweep of the season after dominating the Grand Finals of both the First and Second Conferences.

Cavitex, which held pole position through five legs, finished as second seeds with 415 points followed by Meralco (355) and Barangay Ginebra (350) at third and fourth, respectively.

As incentive for making the Top 4, the Tropang Giga, the Braves, the Bolts and the Gin Kings received outright entry into the quarterfinal phase of the conference finale, which blasts off Feb, 26 at Robinsons Las Pinas.

The rest of the qualifiers – No. 5 Platinum Karaoke (323), No. 6 J&T Express (301), No. 7 Pioneer Elastoseal (264), No. 8 San Miguel Beer (248), Blackwater (191) and Purefoods (180) — will go through pool play to dispute the four remaining Last-8 tickets.

Missing the cut were Terrafirma (120) and NorthPort (111), which ended up in the Bottom 2 of the season-ender. — Olmin Leyba
