P74.1-M irrigation projects in Bicol completed

IRRIGATION projects worth P74.14 million were recently completed in the Bicol Region and 1,799 farmers are expected to benefit from the new facilities.

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) announced Thursday that the projects include the South Quinale River Irrigation System in Oas, Albay; Model Farm Drip Irrigation Project in Polangui, Albay; and the Agos Rubber Dam in Bato, Camarines Sur.

Rice and corn are among the major crops in the region. Bicol is also among the main producers of coconut and abaca.
